Blurb

How do you find love when someone doesn’t want you to be happy?

Patrick Edwards is dealing with a double whammy. Unwanted attention from his housemate’s boyfriend is making him feel uncomfortable in his own home, and he’s facing uncertainty with his employment as an administrative assistant at the local elementary school. He finally breathes a sigh of relief when a friend puts him in contact with Simon, who has a vacant room.

Simon Dawson is a paramedic who doesn’t hesitate to help Patrick. After all, no one should live in a house where they don’t feel safe. Simon develops feelings for Patrick, but doesn’t act on them—Patrick’s moved from a bad situation and doesn’t need his new housemate hitting on him. However, a weekend away changes everything when Simon realizes Patrick returns his feelings.

But someone doesn’t want Patrick and Simon to be happy. A series of strange letters arrive at the house, and things will get a lot worse before the two men get their happily ever after.

The book will be released on 29th September 2017. Initially, it will be available on Amazon and on Kindle Unlimited.

COVER REVEAL: Finding His Place

COVER REVEAL: Finding His Place

I’m thrilled to be able to share the cover of my upcoming release, Finding His Place, with you. The cover artist is Meredith Russell who’s done a brilliant job!

Finding His Place by Nic Starr (Memories of the Breakfast Club Kindle Worlds)

For those of you who don’t know, Kindle Worlds is a publication platform where authors can choose a licensed World and write their own story in that world. The world I am writing in is Felice Stevens’, Memories with the Breakfast Club. It brings together two of her very popular series. I was honoured to be asked to write a story for the launch.

World Description

New York City is known as the city that never sleeps. A city where anything is possible. And with over 8 million people, you never know where love might happen, and to whom. It could be in Sparks, the hottest gay nightclub, or in the bustling hallways of one of New York’s busiest hospitals. But whether it is veterinary clinic or the streets of Brooklyn, these high powered men want to live their lives as proud gay men, find love and a Happily Ever After. But there is always room for another story. It could be a dance instructor. A bartender … maybe a vampire? The choice is yours!

Finding His Place Blurb

Sometimes finding your place in the world can lead to love.

Kieran Walters is the illegitimate son of a successful businessman. Despite striving to win his father’s affection, a confrontation that has been years in the making leaves Kieran devastated to realize he will never be good enough. Jealous of the half brother he’s never met, and who most likely doesn’t know of his existence, Kieran vows to find out what makes his brother so special in their father’s eyes.

Darius Jensen manages a nightclub. He loves his job, but is reluctant to commit when given the opportunity to become a partner. His previous foray into business ownership with a boyfriend had disastrous results, and Darius is still paying the price, both financially and emotionally.

When Kieran starts working with Darius at Sparks, Darius shows him it’s not too late for Kieran to realize his dreams—the fulfilling career, a loving family, and someone who loves him for who he is. If only Kieran can convince Darius of the same thing. But before Kieran’s and Darius’s dreams can come true, Kieran needs to come clean with his brother and deal with the resulting fallout… which threatens his relationship with Darius.

Finding His Place, along with the other books that have been written for the launch, will be released on 22nd June 2017 and will be available from Amazon. Finding His Place is a novella of approximately 33k words.

Happy reading,

Rustic Moment Cover Reveal

The third book in my Rustic Series will be released next month, and I’m excited to share the beautiful cover and blurb for Rustic Moment with you all. 🙂

Rustic Moment? This story is a little different to the first two books in the Rustic series, which predominantly take place in rural areas of New South Wales. The first book had a short visit to Sydney, and the second book had a short visit to Melbourne, but the stories mainly took place in Armidale. This time, we get a peek at the country, but the story mainly takes place in Melbourne. So the cover, instead of an idyllic rural scene, shows a city.

So here’s the beautiful cover, by the very talented Kellie Dennis at Book Cover By Design.

Rustic Moment E-Book Cover

Betrayal, heartbreak, and financial ruin are only the beginning.

The last few months have been tough on Grant Parnell. He discovered his boyfriend was having an affair and it’s taken its toll, both emotionally and financially. With his business facing ruin, Grant could lose everything.

Dave Monroe is excited to start a new phase of his life. He’s following his dream and pursuing an exciting career opportunity. When Grant visits his friends in the country and finds out Dave might be moving to Melbourne, he offers him a place to stay. For Dave, life’s looking good.

Dave had only met Grant a couple of times before moving in with him, but the simmering sexual attraction is undeniable. As he settles into Grant’s home, deeper feelings develop. It’s hard not to fall for Grant’s gorgeous exterior, but it’s the strong man underneath who captures Dave’s heart.

Grant always craved success. His business and his home are testament to just how far he’s come, proving his family wrong and making something of himself—or he had. Now everything is falling apart. As Grant’s world spirals out of control, Dave is the one sure thing in his life.

But if they are to have any chance at happiness, Dave will need to teach Grant what’s really important.

The book will be available on 15th April 2016.

COVER REVEAL: Rustic Melody

Many, many, many months ago, I saw a book cover and fell in love. I loved every aspect – the colour, the composition, and the smile of the guy on the front. I knew I had to have that cover and bought it on the spot.  Then I had to write a story to go with it. 🙂

I’m excited to finally be ready to release the book. It’s called Rustic Melody and will be released on 26th January 2016.

Rustic Melody E-Book Cover

Adam Chambers has never seen eye-to-eye with his father and is reluctant to take over the family’s property-development company.  To clear his head and work out what he wants to do with the rest of his life, Adam leaves his responsibilities in the city and heads out to see the country.

He isn’t much closer to deciding what to do with his life when he arrives at one of Australia’s largest events, the Tamworth Country Music Festival, and meets Joey Callaway.

Since Joey’s father’s tragic death left Joey the family’s debt-ridden pub, Joey has struggled, desperate to turn the business around and give his mum the life she deserves. A break away from the pressures of running the pub is just what he needs, and a hook-up with Adam is the perfect way to forget about his troubles.

The one-night stand might just be an opening act. If Adam and Joey can follow the music in their hearts, perhaps they can heal each other and create a melody that will last a lifetime.

Two best friends take a year off to find themselves… and end up finding each other.

Joshua Simpson has just finished four years at Purdue University, but that’s not why he’s buzzing with excitement. Once they’ve said goodbye to their families, Josh and his best friend Alex are taking off to discover America in an old but reliable VW van, planning on not seeing snow for an entire year.

Josh has always considered himself straight—except for that one time in college—so when he and Alex are living in such close proximity on the road, he’s unsure what these new feelings mean. Is it because they’re spending 24/7 together, or is it something deeper? And does it really matter since Josh has only ever seen Alex with women?

While in Oregon, Josh meets Johnno, a sexy but confusing Aussie surfer. While having an impromptu surfing lesson, Johnno helps Josh realize who he is and what he wants—but Alex’s reaction leaves Josh confused.

From a Montana ranch to the bright lights and dangerous streets of Los Angeles to a dark and lonely deserted highway in Alabama, join Josh and Alex as they drive around the US, discovering not only who they are, but who they can be together.

About the author

RJones-AvatarR.J. Jones started as a reader and eventually made the progression to reviewing. It wasn’t until two men popped into her thoughts, insisting on telling her their story that she started to write.

It started with one scene. A hot and dirty one in the shower…

R.J.’s initial thought was if she could write their scene then they’d shut up and allow her to concentrate on other aspects of her day. Not so. That shower scene ended up being 3000 words long and three hours of work.  And still, they didn’t shut up.  They told her their entire story and she didn’t sleep for days. Sometimes she couldn’t keep up with what they were telling her and she had to keep a notebook by her bed.

Whilst she was writing their story a side character decided he needed his story told too. Then other characters followed suit.

You see the problem? If she ever wants to sleep again then she needs to write.

R.J. is a wife and a mother to two boys. She is surrounded by males. Even her dog is a boy.

Andrew’s Promise is the book that follows Charlie’s Hero. Here’s a little about the story.

Young mechanic Andrew Campbell’s life couldn’t be better. He is about to restore a Ford Mustang with his dad before heading off on the ultimate cross-country road trip with his best friend, Tanner McKenzie.

The day where things become real…

The day where things become real…

Today is a BIG day! Today is the day where things are finally becoming REAL! I’ve known it was coming for a while but now there’s absolutely no hiding.

My first book to be published by Dreamspinner is out there for all the world to see!

So I wanted to share a bit more about the book. Firstly, here’s cover. I am so happy with the wonderful work of the Cover Artist, Anna Sikorska. I think it captures the mood of the book beautifully.

Its Not Easy COVER

So what’s it about? It’s a friends-to-lovers story about making sacrifices for the people you love.

Ben Cooper gave up on following his dreams to keep the peace in his family. Best friend Spencer Henderson has always been Ben’s rock. For Spence, who is in love with Ben, supporting Ben always came first, but as Ben starts to date their friend Suzie, Spence has to think of himself for the first time. The ramifications of one fateful night means leaving their small town may be Spence’s only option to protect his broken heart.

With trouble escalating at home and Spence out of reach, Ben finds it harder to cope. Without Spence’s help, Ben’s life may finally spiral out of control.

I would be honoured if you wanted to add the book to your shelves on Goodreads or to pre-order the book from Dreamspinner.
